The Essence Intense, The Latest Fragrance From Porsche Design.

If you were trying to capture the essence of a sportscar, what sort of scents would you put in the bottle? Burnt rubber? Leather? Gasoline? How about juniper berries, mandarin orange and myrtle? Because those are exactly the notes which Porsche Design has used in its new fragrance, The Essence Intense.

The follow-up to their original scent, The Essence, launched about a year and a half ago, Intense is a fresh, aromatic and woody fragrance for men. The scent was developed together with Clarins Group – which is responsible, among other things, for the Azzuro line – but since it’s a Porsche Design, the bottle has received significant attention, combining smoked frosted glass and black brushed aluminum in a particularly sleek package. Although it’s initially available only as a spray eau-de-toilette in 50 and 80 milliliter sprays, expect a whole range of scented products to follow.

Calvin Klein Launches New Men’s Fragrance CK Free in September.

Calvin Klein will launch a new men’s fragrance in September 2009 called CK free. The latest CK fragrance will be the third CK scent to join CK one and CK be. The model to be featured in the ads is Calvin Klein super “male” model Jamie Dornan.

“CK Free has been created to offer men an everyday escape away from the daily grind regardless of their age, ethnicity or social status. It’s very democratic.” – Calvin Klein.

CK free is described as a woody aromatic. The fragrance opens on “top notes of Thailand star anise, jackfruit, absinthe and juniper berry; a heart of suede, tobacco leaves, coffee absolute and South African buchu, and a drydown of patchouli absolute, oakwood, Texan cedarwood and Costa Rican ironwood.”

The collection will be available in 1 oz. ($32), 1.7 oz. ($47) and 3.4 oz. ($62), also a 5-oz. aftershave balm ($42) and a 2.5 oz. deodorant stick ($16).

Tom Ford’s Latest Fragrance, Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

Tom Ford will launch his latest men’s fragrance next month. Tom Ford Grey Vetiver fragrance is described personally by Ford as “the equivalent of the classic blue blazer, the beautiful watch, or the cap-toes shoe.”

The 1.7 oz bottle (a frosted glass version of the iconic TF men’s fluted bottle) will be $85 and is set to be released September 2009.
