Hey Japan… Gucci Loves You!

Have a hundred bucks to donate to the Japan relief effort and want to reward yourself for doing so? Gucci has designed a charity bracelet that retails for $100 and all of the proceeds from it benefits the Japanese Red Cross.

The bracelet is made of leather and sports red and white (the Japanese national colors) triple stripes. The buckle and circular shaped charm which is inscribed with “Gucci Loves You” is made of sterling silver.

The charity bracelet goes on sale this Saturday in Japan and next week in Gucci stores worldwide and online.

PPR, The parent company of Gucci, as well as Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga has raised over $3 million in for the Japanese earthquake victims.

James Franco is back and hotter than ever as Gucci’s fragrance frontman with the launch of ‘Gucci by Gucci Sport Pour Homme’.

Mark Ronson, The DJ and music producer is teaming up with Gucci to design an exclusive line of athletic shoes for the label’s new pop-up “trainer” (sneaker) store.

Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini has created the pop-up store that will travel to different locations, beginning this October in SoHo. Other stops are to include London, Paris, Berlin and Tokyo – with the store remaining in each place for just a few weeks.

The stores will stock 18 sneaker designs in their stores—16 for men, 2 for women—and Mark will design a unisex pair that’s unique to each city. The sneakers will be priced from $500 to $600.

Ronson told WWD, “I spent many, many years as an avid sneaker collector, so I wanted to make sure these Gucci shoes were truly special from an aesthetic and collectable point of view.”

Gucci Swirl Watch

Mary J Blige and Gucci have teamed up to create a limited edition watch that will benefit Blige’s charity Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now. The limited edition timepiece is a variation of the much hyped ‘Twirl” watch. It has the ability to transform from wristwatch to sleek bracelet with a quick flip of the case.

The Gucci for FFAWN Twirl is all-black with Gucci’s signature monogram pattern and ring of diva-worthy black diamonds. Mary’s Gucci Twirl watch is scheduled to be released at Gucci’s Fifth Avenue Store in NY on September 16th and other outlets thereafter.

A portion of the sales from the $1,895 watch (engraved with the words “Gucci for FFAWN”) will go to the organization, which aims to help women bounce back from traumatic experiences and realize their goals through career development and personal growth programs, as well as scholarships.

Last year Gucci teamed up with Rihanna for their tattoo heart collection to benefit UNICEF.
